AstroInfo 2025 is a CNRS thematic school (INSU, IN2P3, INS2I). It aims to introduce, train and promote state-of-the-art data science methods to the astrophysics community, with a focus on large-scale and multimodal data analysis.

The school is aimed at PhD students, postdocs and researchers who wish to develop their skills in handling and interpreting large data sets in astrophysics, and to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration with computer science and data science communities.

As previous editions since 2021, the school will be held in two parts: a school from October 27 to 31 2025, followed by a hackathon from November 3 to 7 2025. Both events will be held in the Seolane University Welcome center at Barcelonnette, in the Alpes de Haute Provence region of France.

🎯 Objectives

  • Learn to manipulate and analyze large astrophysical datasets
  • Use and understand platforms for computation, data processing, and visualization
  • Gain practical skills in deep learning
  • Develop interdisciplinary skills and collaborations with astrophysicists, data scientists, and computer scientists
  • Explore state-of-the-art methods in astrophysics and data science
  • Participate in a hackathon to apply learned skills and collaborate on real-world projects

👥 Who Should Attend?

  • PhD students and postdocs in astrophysics or data science
  • Researchers interested in data-intensive methods
  • Anyone curious about machine learning applications in astrophysics
